The American geologist Robert M Schoch says the mainstream mantra 'extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence', does not hold up under logical scrutiny as 'it presupposes what is extraordinary in terms of claims and then sets an evidential standard that precludes the possibility of the claims being validated, no matter what the evidence'.
