On the quantum quest for a new reality
‘The revelations that are emerging from quantum physics are a genuine treasure –ultimately, dare I say, spiritual in nature — that offer us the very medicine we need to heal the madness that afflicts our species.’ Paul Levy, in ‘The Quantum Revelation’, (2025).
Our ‘reality’ is not what it appears to be. Quantum physics, which describes the actions of nature in the microcosm, below the scale of atoms, demonstrates that an objective reality simply doesn’t exist.
It shows that the basic conceptual structure of mind must be rethought because of the discovery that the observed and the observer, the physicist and the method used for observation, for instance, are related, intertwined. We appear to exist in a matrix where everything is an expression of consciousness; where consciousness manipulates information to create actuality.
It turns out that quantum physics describes the inner world of private experience when it was once thought it was being developed to describe the behaviour of material objects in space-time.
As we probe for truth ever deeper into nature, in the final remote reaches we meet only ourselves, as in a reflection. There we find a new reality which transcends humankind and life and which has been predicated on the limitation of our capacity for knowledge.
